Hey, were back again with our second track..Nate and Me have been tinkering around with this one for a while and we are excited to see what the TFML audience thinks of this one….Not sure what genre this one would slot into but eager to hear what you guys think of this style and as always we know we can rely on the honest feedback of you guys. It’s a fun track and hope you guys have as much fun listening as we had writing and recording it!

Lovely,.. angelic, emotive high registers, as Brad says ‘sparkling’ voice from Mr Nate Rose, this kind’ve reminded me of the start of a sitcom, only a hit, the way ‘Believe it or not I’m walking on air’ was…lol.. my new policey is to not mark them straight away, it’s best for me to listen multiple multiple times and return with my poster verdict,.. but this was a lovely and refreshing change of pace, I like the exploration of different genre’s, this gives me a high the way ‘Wip’ did, and Mr Daiyv ‘Burt Bacharach’ Jones has yet again demonstrated his much sort after composition skills,.. you got 3 very solid options and I think for this style you chose the right one, the relaxy, blissful technique of Nate was a good delegate. I’ll pop her into GTA user track files,.. and let her work it’s magic boys,.. my first responce is a very positive one. 🙂
I think there is a very solid song in there. Catchy. like the harmonies and the very old school guitar voiceings and chords. If you have seen the movie That Thing You Do, this reminds of something the Wonders (the band in the movie) have.
I am not fond of the the kick and snare. The song is too sparce for such a heavy sounding kit. perhaps a lightweight jazz kit, or brush set tucked under the covers a little more would help.
Yeah, once again I reiterate, nice vocals Nate,… I’ve really come to appreciate good singing especially lately, trying to do high end notes for some of the shit I’ve been creating, it turns out I hopelessly and helplessly can not, and will have to seek background voice help from me brother, lol, game over, it’s a pillow bent over my head to drown out the bawling for me.
You are able to sing comfortably in several ranges I’m guessing you have a multiple octave voice?, a PROPER one, not merely ‘making noises’ in multiple ranges, you are able to dispatch an emotive falsetto with a slight combination of chordal grit, and make it sound very smooth, soothing and natural, a combined fusion of head-voice and chest voice, I haven’t heard many who can produce the two strains together and it go’s to show your natural talent, it’s no wonder why you are considered this website’s ‘harmonies’ master.
The only minor issue, very very minor, barely an ‘issue’ is perhaps a slight overextension on the end of some notes, they were all executed beautifully, but would have preferred more of a mix of end note lengths, but really, apart from that, it’s a faultless performance from you.
Daiyv, lovely introduction melody, you always ease the track on in nicely, a needle through the eye, a needle through the eye,.. you reserved the right flank for all the butterflies I noticed, the detailed titters, kept the timer strums to the left, it created a marvellous balance, and the drums were multi-mixed, you really implement this instrument quite masterfully into your compositions, you have been my greatest enlightner when it comes to the importance of the drum-kit, you have influenced me to broaden my closed mind when it comes to the beat, drums are not a mere ‘metronome’ substitute,..thus every beat and whip, was a schooling onto my skull, drilling in some sense, like a prinicipals whip of the ruler onto the knuckle tops in 1915.
A very good 87% from me, a very enjoyable track, you’ve meshed really well together this time, the only collective minor issue was perhaps a little conflict with the vocals and the symbols in some areas, but obviously being only 13% away from being absolutely ‘perfect’ to my ears, that ‘issue’ should be put in the proper mimiscule context.
Dammit.. this is good.. and once again, i like it from the very first listen.. when will you two write a screwed up bad song that just doesnt work…..? Throw us a damn bone now and then wont ya!.. hahah.. Again you have both set the bar impressively (and slightly intimidatingly) high.. I love it.. Bring it on! lol..
Again, a very nice composition and extremely well performed by both of you. The music had a really good flow and their were a few accompaniment guitar parts that really caught my attention.
I have to agree with DC that the kick is a bit full on for the vibe of the tune – specially in the verse. Encroaches on the vox too much for my liking in those parts.. Kind of makes Nates vocals "pulse" during the verse, but not in a way that worked for me.
On the vocal front… well, what can I say… sweet as hell work Nate.. I like the lyrics and adore some of the melody parts – specially the chorus and bridge – that upper mid range of your voice (ie: the chorus & bridge) is just beautiful.. you nail it every time i hear you in that groove.. emotive, clear and strong.. killer..
Again though, i think were missing a lot of the sensitivities of your style in these recordings. The mic your using just isnt capturing the crisp accents/presence that your voice has.. I have (hmm or had) and old recording of you singing the cover "Round Here" that I think captures your voice in pretty accurate style.. If it’s cool with you i’ll locate it and post it in RAWCUTS to show what i mean..
Very nice.. very very nice… dammit…
not perfect – but I think its bloody good…

Thanks guys, I think i can speak on behalf of Nate and me when i say we had a lot of fun writing and recording this track, this one has been kicking along for quite a while now, gone through many small iterations to try and get the sound we were after, i agree with you guys above about the drums being a little heavy, something i can update in future and hopefully improve on…the sound i was going for on this track was a kind of raw but well put together track, just simple clean guitars and a twist on an old style melody….i think Nate nailed it with the vocals, as per usual, and really brings out the fun in the track which is always cool….i hope to do more of this style with Nate as i think it gels really well…plus Nate’s vocals as in clarity sounds 20 times better on this one compared to the somewhat botched "radio" track which we have been re-writing and plan on updating soon….but i know what brad is saying about the "sparkle" effect….it’s just so damn hard to replicate sometimes though…but for me this one is solid and i’m a pretty happy chappy….
Perfect nice and lovely…Has a cool feel, mellow and sweet ..Very delayed response I thought i had commented on this ages ago and recently returned to indulge in another listen..
Bouncy sound pop feel love it….
