Hey all, this is an oldie by comparison to a bunch of new stuff we have done (yet to be uploaded), but still, this is unfinished, surprise surprise with me (DJ). I figured it would be cool to upload to see if its worth pursuing, i really like the feel of it, Nate did a stellar job on the vox, listening back i cant remember how much more i wanted to do to this, but anyhow any feedback you guys have is always appreciated…

I had two listens of this, the first time I downloaded it a while ago, I had a lis, but forgot to comment, and at that time I remember it didn’t seem like my cup of tea,.. but listening to it again this evening, I suspect it may be one of those tunes that really grow on you. It is a song with a long climax, but it DOES work afterall,.. Nate has an excellent voice, a genuine, natural ease of immersing his soul into the story that he wishes to express, and I’ve never heard of anybody who sounds quite like him either, I think I said Nick Kershaw once, but truthfully, Nate’s much, much better than him. I’m so glad we haven’t lost Nate from this forum during the drought of despatchals, my only criticism, is in areas the panned vocals were a little muddling, but nothing that would render one into unconciousness, a slight tick that could be resolved if you wished, given that this is apparently a ‘rawcut’. The music was charming, there’s a nice jangling twang, very sweet in tone that nibbles your lobes, it seemed to tickle the ribs of Nate as he reached those high notes, you squeezed it out of him Daiyv good job, lol. My only criticism, merely a preference really, is the charged tempo sequences were a little thrash heavy on the symbols, but that’s about it, the rest of the composition was a well oiled bit of gear, a piston popping flute of candy scent whistling out of a laughing chimney cap which powers the train of triumph, great stuff all round, I’m glad I gave this song a few spins before opening my barramundi jaw-lungs.

Fuck yeah i have heard this before its a ripper. I know exactly what nates going for with that structure and it works. You sounded a little restricted in some of your screaches. I would love to have a crack at that! Everything the same but some heavy arse metal screams for the chorus. Dave send it and get permission?
\This is pretty fucking mad i totaly forgot about this and it sure does grow on ya! third listen. You guys should really nail that!
    Solid foundations there.

Right with ya timmy, I tried on this….really did….stretched my range to hit notes that maybe I didn’t fully do justice like a harder core singer could….aka haverack. So, was fun though….Love the tune, great parts from DJ, good buildups that went into a perfect chorus….I was basically able to put down vocals in 2 seconds with these melody lines so it was right up my alley as far as song style and melody directions. I think vocally I could have done more or more interesting choices…also the ending didn’t really get finished and wasn’t sure what to sing there. would be fun to have a recording with both tim and I doing some vocal parts…that would be fun.
