Nodding in agreement!, nodding in agreement!,..or is that bopping like a cocked up chicken?.. loved it, built up real well, then casplatchera cerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrACK!!.. a little green reptile uncontrollably twisting into the air latched on to the mic and shreiked the annual introduction,..thumbs up to the cannon crew! it worked!,.. lovely, string nudgells.. chippy planks, katonk knick knees, and slapping drums, appreciated the details of the beat.

Im startin’ to wonder if it really is my sound card when it comes to vocals though,.. because at times it seemed a bit bobbin’ .. bit blanketted,.. like a volume pendulum?,.. just in some areas,..though great harmonies Brad, gritty, passionate, I waved my arms like a parade, and did cartwheels while you pumped the knee on the float like Billy Idol,.. I wont rate this yet,.. because,.. I’ll wait and have some more listens,.. if there is anything I would have wished… it would perhaps be an extra insertion of a slow down and a builder back up,..instead of a slow down, then hook into the chorus for another feast,… just one more build up,,… and also…the end fade seemed to stop abruptly,.. would have preferred the song finished that particular loop… or just had it playing until the fade out did the job,.. Very pleasant though, this aint no b-side! ,.. I’ll claw splay another drop off with a new scroll and let the musical vitamins of this nutritious number clense the soul a little more,.. no more kneejerk reactions good or bad,.. I have a way of listening to every track multiple times now,.. so I’ll let it brew for a bit, and return with a more accurate verdict. Into the User gta radio files you go, *pop

Yeah, catchy chorus, real good, very important, am leeching with influence off those harmonies Brad, I’m also leeching with influence from the way Daiyv used those drums,.. I have been indulging in minimal 4/4 ,.. but Daiyv highlighted the importance of giving them more of an oppurtunity in the spotlight, and showed they’re not just a ‘metronome’ which is kind’ve all I’ve been using drumbeats for. Still listening chaps, analysing.

just like Brad i accidentally deleted the first draft of what i was going to say/////////Bugger so ill do it again…..Firstly Brad i am so impressed with your vocals…i think you should be the front man for your band whoever and whatever it is…I cant see why you think you need a singer..i suppose you like fiddling around with your fingers….Mate you have been doing that since you where 13…Mate get ya shit together and get a band and sing for it…every time you lay lyrics down they suite the song like an Armani suit …….And Dave your spin on this whole thing always brings the best out off whoever you work with…i think you should be giving the computers the arse and getting into music production…i really think you could make "plug" sound good…Of course you would have to have alot and alot and alot alot alota influence on what they play but i feel musics in your blood. Well done with this ,that is a seriously catchy chorus……love it..i want more collaborations like this. 92 easy 92.

Yeah, so, nice boys, but, I’d have really liked 3 things, for the lyrics to be a little better defined, also make the verses filter the vibrant cells of candy bits so to speak like dolphins by the boat side, I’m a fan of pocketted break-downs and celestial highs where afforded, seemed like you couldn’t wait to hook back into the chorus, though, the chorus is the most important bit, and I think you ACED that, great chorus, good song overall, been listening intently,.. I agree with Tim, your a lethal singer Mr Green, you can be harmonious, or you can crank your throat into a grasping rock gear,.. Daiyv, the bit I especially loved about the composition, was the melody you produced as a fade out echo after the chorus, that riff, fucken splendid,..that’s why I noticed the brief stoppage right at the end of the song,.. I was doing the air hoola hoop to that, then CUT!… I’d probably give the tail a little fade out to avoid the abruption.

    Great song chaps,..

One last comment,.. terrific job on the beggining lads!… that’s what I call some real sensational ‘dramatics’ .. slow, you know, word of warning, timbres shivering then fucken WOOSH ^^^ fountains of cash.. then we hooked into the meal, a flawless start,..!

So I’ve been reading your comments guys and thought i should add a little extra info, first off Jack you have picked out all the key points on this track which is impressive and i’ll try to give some feedback on why your hearing what you heard…lol , or in my opinion anyways…So with regard to the vocal mix, i left this one to Brad as he had some specific ideas only Brad could pull off, and i think it shines through too compared to what i was trying to do, but having said that i totally agree that the vocals could come up a notch or 2, but in essence i want to give a massive, repeat, Massive! credit to Brad as we wrote and recorded this in about maybe 6 hours??? Brad can confirm but i must mention that this was all through the wee hours for Brad and quite a lot of it was into the light hours of the next morning, and he pulls this shit off???? amazing….i think Brads vocals have transformed my disjointed ideas into an actual song and pull it all together and all with the above restrictions makes this actually unbelievable….and to top it off i left brad with a half baked track, so , again, thanks for making me look good Brad! but this ends up being the entire point, this was quite rushed if i’m being honest, and hence the rush back to the chorus, there just wasn’t enough time to polish it like normal, i think all the elements of a really cool song are there but just need to be tweaked to get the polish we need, at the time we didn’t have the time but we both have the raw files and i’m keen as mustard to revisit and polish then update, so all i can say at the moment is watch this space for more….

Thanks for all the comments guys.. Dave above is correct – this was a very quick on the fly creation and it definably shows in spots. Doing vocals at 7am without sleep isnt recommended either.. lol.. I would like to restructure it a bit as it was kinda tough to give the song a good flow as is – hell, it has 1 verse, 1bridge, and 3 chorus’s?? lol.. very strange.. I also didnt really do anything with the vocals besides panning (no compression/eq/reverb – nothing) so they could be made to sound more front and center pretty easily without boosting level.. Dave did a stellar job as usual in creating all the music.. The verse and bridge are killer.. Really like the "shiftiness" of them.. Amazing how quick he was pumping these parts out too..

The parts that need attention in my book are:

    – needs a second verse
    – maybe needs a short 2 bar pre chorus to mix it up a bit
    – chorus vox need re-doing so they all dont sound exactly the same!
    – a short 4 beat silence/break (lone guitar w/delay – odd drum – something with a final hook)) between the bridge and final chorus..
    – Needs an ending (the fade i put on it sucks.. lol.. only had a full mp3 to try and do something with)

All this kinda structure finesse stuff was obviously bypassed when we spent most of our time exporting and sending blocks of the tune back and forth.. Fun a hell to do though – and it all came together pretty damn quick.. think 6hrs total, and thats including a few famous "back in 15min" Dave Jones gross time underestimations .. lol..
Self rating as is, I’d give it a 70% for us.. could – and hopefully will, be greatly improved soon..

Brad, on a somewhat unrelated topic,.. where is your song ‘Twisted’ in the archives???… it’s another one that sorta grew on me, wanted to give it an appraisal but,.. couldn’t find her?

I love it guys…truly….I echo timmy, I think you could easily be the front man in a band…the vox by you brad…even considering it was late when recording…still….I wouldn’t have noticed. I was really impressed with the harmonies on the main chorus…really solid and catchy. I loved the guitar/delay breakdown around 218, that’s really interesting and awesome….good build up too….the vocals again, the harmonies are very cool and interesting around 250, awesome touch. I’m amazed that in 6 hours you came out with such an amazing product. Good work guys….dave as always, love your style and playing….we have pretty similar ear and taste, so of course I like this track. 5 stars from me….excited to hear how you refine it further.

    NICE!
Like others have said, the vox could stand to come forward a bit more and use a bit of delay rather than verb to give them some depth. I especially like the drums at around 1:20

I would love to produce this style of music, or even this song. Maybe track the guitars at my place.

Thanks again for the comments… DC: believe it or not i’ve never used delay on vocals in that way (ie: short).. it honestly never occurred to me!.. duh!! Will give it a bash for sure….

Mangrove: I think the tune your talking about is this one?
    Colliding Lies
It’s pretty basic, and as usual, incomplete… but is ok for what it is..

Dave and I attempted to mess with, err, improve, this song on Friday night but got kinda bored with it. Ended up making a new tune Lay, Lo’ Lo’.. I guess we could update this with what we did.. it was only mixing stuff though.. nothing new recorded..

Tar Brad,.. yeah,.. when I downloaded it, it was entitled ‘Twisted’ .. but I do note in the lyrics ‘lies’ and ‘collide’ … I actually saw that header in the index and stared at it blankly for a few seconds, then moved on. Good stuff.

Oh yeah, i forgot we messed with this one before Lay ‘lo ‘lo….i’d like to tidy this one up from the music point of view and re-send to brad to let him have at it with a decent structure…see what we can do, if anything comes of the experimenting thats half decent i’ll post an update….I have the most fun doing super fast tracks like this, it really captures the feeling at the time really well at the sacrifice of structure and direction…an interesting trade off i think….

ooh.. I should mention the original chorus was a homage to my favorite song of Tims…. it was "Growing Old Town, were grew up there".. but changed to "In the old town, we grew up there, You dont walk on as we (are) all belong" to fit better… still.. the intention was there.. still dig that song man.. rockin stuff..

Hmmm,.. I think the best Tim classic, is the one called ‘Functable’ ,.. that has real potential,.. grew on me bigtime while hearing that over the GTA,.. worth another listen if you’re ever flicking back into the archives Brad.
