The old Polymer is no more.. But we think we have found a new lead singer. This is Megan and us jamming out a pretty basic idea on our 3rd practice together. It was put together that night. The band is a totally different animal now – very different for all of us – a very fun kind of different though. Really looking forward to hearing everyones opinions on this change. Were keen to see what we can come up with once we all settle in.
Live in the jam room, recorded on the field recorder.
Update: V2 – Bridge addition

Stay the Same – V2

Stay the Same – Raw Idea Jam

Finally got back to this one today and managed to get it to a level that can float out of RAWCUTS. Not really sure what the subject matter is, cant put my finger on why it took certain directions and somehow ended up being kinda dark either. A very rare appearance of a bass track in this one. It really does help hey! Also discovered real bass’s are bastards to play – back to guitar for me!

You Know (Pacino)

I intend on doing something with this one. Have a chorus written and some verse ideas but am yet to record them.

Update: Vocal Writing – Just testing a vocal idea with a mic in the middle of the room (the cars driving past is a nice touch). Lots of mumbles etc but trying to write a more interesting vocal melody than my usual ideas. Didnt realize I slowed it all down so much till afterwards.

Bruised Face Nation – Vocal Writing

Bruised Face Nation

The second live recording of us instrumentally jamming on an idea created last night. Again, no vocals, but has potential. The band is feeling much more in synch as the weeks go by.. This tune is still in progress..

Aural Jam

A live stereo mic recording of us jamming on a new idea in at practice lastnight.. Its kinda long as we were just cruising along.. Almost in Stoner Rock territory.. Very cool in the middle section.. No vocals as George couldn’t make it to practice.. New method of fast recording.. Sounds like this is going to be the way we capture jam ideas on the fly from now on..

Dirty Swing Jam

An in progress cut of my second punk tune (as requested by Mangrove). No drums or bass on this yet. Cuts etc are still messy. Only a few vocals written so far as well. Thought you guys might like to hear a tune mid recording. I mic’d my little practice amp for all the guitars except one small section – i bet you can pick the Amplitube’d part – it sounds really bad! I’ll finish this in the next few days then post it on the main page. Cliche punk drums will really stick it in the style i’m hoping..

Friend or Foe?

Created and jammed on last night. Very different for us as its not a 4/4 time sig. By no means complete, inprov vox, changes, basslines etc.. ie: us birthing a tune idea. Guitars cant be heard, but, vocals sound great.. this ones going to be good once written..

Control

A weird short recording created one Friday evening. I was as in the mood to write something but didnt have a starting point of any kind. Recorded a single goof acoustic part and got bored. Plugged in the ol faithful GT6 pedal and grabbed my “Encryption days” Ibanez.. and bamm.. another so-so idea was born.. Even I think this tune is kind of odd… cuts out sharply.. I hate doing that..

What did I miss?

A mostly complete tune from Hunter and Brad Green recorded the same writing evening as “Ode to Kate”. It drops out at the bridge as we were still in the middle of writing the song. We recorded this one live with only the shaker track being added later. Basically a practice session for Brad to try the odd harmony here and there.

Fire Light

An original, easy listening, adult contemporary track entitled, “ode to Kate”. Havn’t we all had one of those at some point. This is an old Hunter & Brad duo recording, captured at the East St Studios (blobs house) in the wee hours of the morning..Parkes – Aus – July 2006

ode to Kate

A total improv screw around at the end of practice.. Actually almost sounds like a song.. I think were gonna keep it for the rougher gigs we may encounter.. If you listen close you can hear us negotiating with Jeff’s wife for 3 more minutes jam time past curfew… haha… awesome fun though.. poor recording – field recorder –

Welcome Bikers<

An “on sofa with acoustic” recording of me trying to make a country song as requested. I really dislike country so this was as close as I could get off the cuff. A new much more cliche country tune is in the works, but this was still kinda goofy fun..
