Dc I picture In a room surrounded In speakers microphones and key boards. Suspended from the ceiling with with leads attached to your body eating records and staring at a computer screen..This is an awesome song > Its catchy and beautifully produced..Love the intro to verse and swift chorus…Has a big sound too. Strings sound lovely. Everything is where it should be…Lovely structure…Only Bitch would be the 1.58 mark but still it then stepped up into a ripping solo and souded ver gut….
King of structure.

yeah guys sounds good, like the melody, i notice lots of ambiance on the drums and vocals but the guitars sound super clean? but overall i like the sound, Allan the vocals are good but a bit to speaking for my liking, going to give this one 75% (personal taste mostly though)….
Thanks Guys,
@Dave J – interesting. The vocals are probably the most dry I have done – nothing more than a room mic several feet behind Allen when he was singing that gets moved in and out as needed. Drums.. hmmm super compressed direct mics, with just the overheads giving some room for dynamics.
I wish all saxaphone reed's in the world were replaced with Allen's voice box, or shapely reeds replicated from X-rays,…. jazz festivals would have me twirling around performing an idiosncratic, ritualistic dance that stuns a circle of people due to it's suspicious creep, as if to alledge,.. "Hang on,.. this guy aint just moving to the music,…. something's not right here,..call the ambulance" …that's an awesome unique instrument Al,.. ofcourse if I had to name a noteable like it, it would be Neil Diamond,.. but it's still very much your own,.. your lower end notes in particular can put wings on a docile reptillian, sen-sational.
The music is awe-some,.. layered and detailed, however Dr Wave,.. a slight criticism, which I'm not sure could be the fault of my cheap sound card,.. but there could have been too much going on at once in the chorus,..which drowned Allen out a bit,.. in some areas he sounded like a mosquito under the heavy blare,..figuratively, the chorus arrangement was like a fat girl who has a pretty face,.. slim her down, and you'd have the best poll dancer on the west coast,.. love the operatic, pop-metal fusion,.. also loved the LYRICS,.. coherent,.. with plenty of clever metaphorical twists,.. top job.

Mangrove…It's great to be wanted. Now I just need to find another million souls with the same opinion! Too kind…thanks!
Haverick just to clarify…that part at 1:58 is my b r i d g e – not a a bitch…lol and Dave J…one of these days I'll find something that jives with you 🙂 thanks for the comments.
Just listening to this again..Very cool song guys!
DC did you write all the music?
Allen did you contribute more than singing? And did you write the lyrics?
This song is a hit dudes if you can stream 3 of these bad boys together and a few fill songs i would buy the album.
Allen I can hear that its you bridge but my only bitch about the song was that bit.
Anyways Love that ripping solo after that , that was a pearl .
More of this stuff would be cool. Its impressive.
Haverack,
Glad you like it.
This was one of Allen's songs – basic chords, melody and lyrics were in place and written by Allen.
Typically how we work is if Allen has a song he showcases it at the songwriter's open mic night. If I groove on it, and see the crowd grooving on it, I ask him to come over and get some scratch tracks down and then we talk about the direction it needs to go – what he hears in his head, what I hear, etc. I then send him home for a week or so, and I burn a CD and listen to the song over and over and over and over until I hear what Allen hears, or until I hear something cool to latch onto. At this point I compose all the other parts, change some chords around a bit if needed and create the guitar parts, etc… then have Allen preview it. Sometimes he gets excited, sometimes he says he doesn't like it and I go back to the drawing board and come up with something new.
So it works out well on his songs – they are well written, simple and provide me a lot of room to workup stuff and create the fully produced thing you hear. What often takes soo long is that I am particular about specific sounds. Nothing is accidental. It drives Allen crazy because he thinks something is done, I end up hating the sound or something and I scrap it until I hear the right sound and part. HAHA
If it is one of my songs – like Walls and Don't Tread on Me – I have the music already fleshed out and hand a rough mix to Allen to write lyrics to and come in and sing. he gives me his input on making changes to fit a vocal part and I do it.
Thanks for the input. I am hoping that before summer we can get another 4 or 5 songs done but a lot has to do with my schedule. I am producing another local band – high school kids with some talent
Allen's got a new song that I think is really cool – different. I want to take on that one next.
awesome self comment there DC.. I was intrigued as to how you guys did it.. You guys seem to be much less "splash and dash" as the rest of us.. actually putting time into the details – and the results speak for themselves.. Eminent A.D is convincing me it's worth the extra thought and effort into tunes – the combined improvement all the small changes have really add up.. both you guys have got some serious skills, and the results when they come together in the right song is impressive.. we may hold you guys to the "4 or 5 songs" comments.. i'd be all ears for em..
Ya know Brad… Allen and I work in SLC – I bet I could convince Allen to come with me and we could jam or come up with something new.
That would be cool if Greenblob could feature in a track
With regards to my previous comment, i must have been on crack! you guys should have ripped me apart for the comments about the guitar and drums, they actually sound really good, DC the whole composition sounds amazing and Allan i was completely wrong about your vocals, after many more listens they are awesome and have grown on me a lot….this track is solid and i have absolutely no idea what i was talking about before….sorry dudes, my bad….
