Nate Rose – The Fence

The 1st post from Nate Rose (SLC, UT, USA) I wrote this in 2004, I did all the parts, tried to do some neat harmonies, keyboards/synthesized drums, etc. I’m quite proud of it, but I’m curious for comments, feedback.

Welcome Nate.. I know he has many more songs to post but i fear im gonna have to force them out of him… His harmony work is pretty intimidating to a hack like me.. this reminds me of Fink.. but more cruisy.. the mix is a bit wild but when everything hits the pay off is there.. actually made me sleepy and relaxed which may go against the lyrics… more please..

I love this, it’s very soothing. And, more cheers to you, your vocals sound similar to Bernard Fanning from Powderfinger. Impressive.

I agree with the comments above, its very relaxing. Mixing is very cool with awesome harmonies that really give the song some depth. I really enjoyed the mutlitude of instruments all working together well to make a very distinctive sound. It seems that you have alot of talent and i find myself checking the email to see if you have more good stuff coming our way…

swwwwwwwwwwssss,.. *saucey suction sound*,.. like a modern day version of the immensely successful 60’s / 70’s band ….’America’… with a pinch of psychedelia,.. I began listening to this song when I was 24 and now that Im 27 I feel much the wiser the benefit of having listened,.. fuck it was long,.. but I wasnt staring at the sands in the hourglass at all, that’s the real mineral test between baddy bat and baton rouge,.. listening to the pitch of the vocals, really does suit this style of music, or so my body told me as I found myself playing an air violin, I do fancy the drawn out notes, and the odd spang and bizz of a wayward acoustic string was endearing, kept me grounded because I didnt want to float towards heaven, I never do, I want heaven on earth,… and I got it more or less,..I do like the track you’re on,..looking forward to hearing more from you, as my head shrinks and expands like a heart drinking the khz.
