Yeah nice chaps,.. first of all,.. I have to say, brilliant title, in respect to the sound of the composition, that was a lovely composition Daiyv,.. ‘dreamy’ kind of pop metal,.. oo la la,.. beautiful, and well done Fat’s in naming it and basing the lyrics around the sound of that,.. you sung like a lazer, full of vigor,.. nice work, I particularly enjoyed the choruses and melodic changes,.. Loved the harp like echo delaying ends of that crisp angelic guitar Daiyv, it was a harp-guitar, beautiful fusion.. an absolute winner,.. lethal books ends, a standout.
Now Fats, I do recall you having alot of trouble with your equipment, the vaunted ‘phantom punch’ to the kidneys,.. there was clipping during the singing I could detect, however, it might be due to a fault on my end?,.. but I heard sounds of a blasting overload through the mic,.. and you know, I listenned to what you said the other day about hardcore screams,.. I can see how they have thier place in bits,.. but in some areas,.. I thought they were a little expansive,.. I couldn’t understand a word, but do note the sound can make for a dramatic dip,.. but really besides those bits,.. it was a really great pop-metal sound,.. I love this partnership, Daiyv and Tim, the pop metal kings,..sure as fuck keep this up you two,.. I’m collecting each tune, putting her into a folder and imagining it as an albulm,.. but unlike a typical albulm where you have a few ‘space fillers’ every one of them is catchy, real catchy.
Daiyv ?, Tim ? ,.. may I read some ‘making of’ comments to this song?.. what your aims were, the direction you were looking for?.. any particular bits you wish were different in retrospect?…how satisfied are you with it?.. join in chaps,.. please join in.. let’s make some good use of the comments section, and celebrate the arts..
Very nice guys, I really like the dynamics of the song…and timmy your vocals are so unique and cool…dave’s told me about how so much of your stuff just comes out first trial and sounds so cool….I really like that you seem to go outside of the box with different vocal styles screaming to melodic singing….really fits the style nicely, I think. Dave, I love your song writing as I’ve told you before, I like the changes and intricacies of your guitar work….nice little solo and rhythm transitions all throughout that keep me nodding mein head!! Good song overall, 4 stars.
Hey Dudes, thanks for the cool feedback…so this one was a flash in the pan type of writing and recording…me and tim on the weekend, sinking beers, chatting on skype, tim started to record something and so did i, tim heard my melodie in the background and said "send that send that!" which was the first section, then i recorded the second section, Tim said "it’s ok but can you speed it up" so then i rerecorded and we had the second section pumping along…Tim threw some awesome vocals on and told me "it’s cooked, she’s cooked"…i laughed and then went and got drunk with some friends, came back the next day, popped another beer, chatted with Tim, i was struggling to record the 3 part as we were unsure of which direction to head in, Tim said"get it done dave, get it done!" , i laughed some more then popped out the heavy section, tim recorded the screams over the top, stellar like diamond dust, then while he was doing that i started recording the soft section and cut the chorus vocal line on top, and told tim "you have to hear this, i’m happy with it and if you’re not i’m going to be devastated!", he laughed, he agreed it sounded good with a smidgin of disapointment i sensed….then we thought of maybe having the next section go to big sound, tim said, "yeah a solo!" i laughed some more, then struggled to play it over and over again, i laughed some more, tim told me" get it done!" again!, then tim recorded more vox over that section, easily like taking candy from a baby…then i was chatting with tim and said "yes! we need to tie it all up with the beginning at the end!" or something….Tim said "Nooooo!" when i showed him the final product, he said "you can’t use the start at the end!" but then after my pushing him, threatening his family…. (lol) kidding jack, then he agreed and we were happy….the end.
yeah pretty much what he said…….You know jack im so glad your on this site i think your extremely attentive and you lead the path for the rest when it comes to comments. Your dedicated to this site and the number one fan…. My direction in this was to try and ballard this a bit…unfortunately it was done on a sing-star mic….No excuses catchy is the key i think….i try and keep them that way and also try to complement the music if its possible….Dave grabbed hold of the lyrics i sent and cut copied and pasted them in a way i would never had thought of…..It worked i was pleased and i think he was too…..As for direction with lyrics once again it probably makes no sense but if its liked enough im sure we could one day revisit it and make good song. The hardest part of all these songs is not being able to play them in real life…Im sure wewould probably have more fun now playing them than ever……..one of the things i miss the most is jamming>> Thanks for the comments anyways guys. And thanks to Dave for another opportunity.
Well Tim from what I heard, the lyrics seemed to make sense, even if in a metaphorical way at times,.. ‘The bitch has gone and done it again’ … ‘turning things into nightmares’ .. the part about wishing for the partner to stop talking and deviate her attention to something else, ‘eat your breakfast it’s getting cold’.. because from a defensive posture, she’s already dead to you, ‘back of the eye-lids’ ,.. with a mix of literals and metaphoricals, this song can actually be interperated successfully,.. so I’m really happy with what you did with this in assissting the spine and soul of the composition,.. and I liked the hardcore elements mixed in, I did,.. it works if they’re balanced and used especially for specific words like "The bitch has gone and done it again!" .. I better understand the fusion you’re creating and look forward to hearing more. This also blares through the GTA radio very very sweetly,.. it doesn’t sound out of place at all.
freakin sweet… in the best of ways…. This is kickass.. had many many listenings trying to pick it apart, fault it, over critique it and generally try to find parts i didnt like… the list was short.. very very short actually…
all i could come up with was:
Tim: the mic (suprisingly) only seems to let you down in the intro/outro sections when the band is stripped away – a bit muffled, but even then it’s a cool effect.. Seems a singstar is pretty thumping for your voice at volume. The occasional mic clipping/distortion isnt a big deal for what it is!! Amazing..
Dave: Best guitar sound you’ve had in my book.. And the writing was very cool. If i had to fault something it’d be it’d be the tiny gripe of uncontrolled low end rumble in sections of the mix.. but again… a cool effect on the tune, gave it a bit of a live sound.. Love the long held guitar notes and the slyly mixed fingerpicked (or delayed) clean outro rhy guitar.. classy, and oozing cool…
Think this has finally shunted "Judgement" off my DJTH number one spot.. both killer tunes.. but this just has more..
there has been much talk of the fundamentals behind the lyrics…So ….lets clear this all up….."open up your and eat your breakfast" Sausage and meat balls peoples. "its getting cold and i cant stand the back of your eye lids" Clearly sexual frustration here…He had his morning boner and its getting cold cause the bitch wont get up………….So he then approaches the bed to find his lovely paraplegic wife has shit the bed and done it again.
Haha, nice Tim nice. But i’m sure we all don’t buy that….lol….I’m agreeing with Jack on this, the vocals can be interpreted in multiple ways which is one of Tim’s classic traits…I have always found that good melodies always translate really well to any style and i think a lot of times Tim’s vocals have a similar effect to different listeners, different people can listen and interpret differently but always find a common tie to what they think is happening….kudos Tim kudos….i think regardless of how this song was recorded and manipulated, the fact in my mind is that this is the first track in a while where we were able to capture an overall feeling perfectly and in a super short amount of time…i’m super stoked that both Jack and Brad enjoyed the track, can’t emphasize enough how awesome it feels when we are super excited by something we have created and then have people give feedback and comment on the experience they had as well… It seems this style of spontaneous writing and recording works well for Tim and me and we have more coming so thanks again guys for the awesome comments…..
