This is a new song that my singer and I are working on. I thought I would post the evolution for the raw cuts.
This is just two guitar parts I had floating around in my head. Allen (the singer) will hand me some lyrics this week and then I can start crafting the music around the lyrics better and start determining what instruments will be playing what parts.
A nice smooth decorative little daphne DC,.. it’s like a tribe picking up a stick of multiple-angles, bulbs, spikes and zigzaws and thinking,.. YEP,.. I reckon we can use that,.. then it turns out to be as good as a swiss army knife,.. I do like this platform you have made,,.. if I were on a train I’d bust out 3 stops short and do the Chuck Berry goose hope on it.

hey i just sold this to a radio station it was easy cash…I told them your history and they flocked to it like it was the works of Davinci himself…Id love to hear this developed..Its like the old days of film and im staring at the negatives waiting for the pictures..Im sure what you do will be positive
yeah cool, interesting to hear your track before other stuff is added, like the intro riff, sounds nice…what guitar you playing? i was guessing a strat but i’m not so sure after a couple of listens…..sounds by the chord changes there is a defined sound scape for vocals which is cool….cant wait to hear as you snap the puzzle pieces in on this one….
Righto Mr DC,.. I’ve heard ‘B’ … it’s time to bring Neil Diamond into this now,.. should be a goody. It’s hard to say wether this could be a little ‘stretchy’ without the lyricist and singer,.. but we’ll wait and see,.. maybe could do with a little twist perhaps?.. an extra key change,.. but really,.. it’s very difficult to tell depending on how your singer does,.. it may not need one at all,..
One thing is for sure, by the sound of it,.. you’ll pass,..lol… you’ll pass the test,.. it’ll be difficult to ever rank one of your tunes below 70% I think,.. your just too good,.. too professional,.. and it’s an honour to have you, you’re a bar raising, record breaker.
this is cool.. i really like the tone of the arpeggiated guitar track. It’s a perfect support for a singer to have a blast writing to, and at the same time, it has enough balls to hold its own as the pulse of the song. I agree with mangrove that the vocals could bend this in all kinds of directions. Interested to hear what you guys come up with. I’m hoping your singer doesnt take the safe route though. I’d like to hear a vocal line with lots of dynamics and interesting phrasing. I fear anything too err "easy listening (?)" in the vox department would make the song a little too stale. You have made a great canvas for him to work with though.. looking forward to hearing the next progress..
oh: Artcore guitar you say.. hmm.. got a few questions about those you might be able to help me with.. will post them in the gear thread of the forum..
Yeah nice update with the drum track and bassline, the bassline sounds interesting as i coudn’t hear any of its high end? do you eq it out or something? looking forward to hearing the vox track on this, you dont happen to have other vocalist’s tied up in the basement do you? love to hear a female vocalist on the site just once, would be awesome….but i digress….sounds like your building this pretty solidly to me….i’ll wait to hear the vocal line before i judge too much….so i’ll keep checking back here, oh yeah how bout my comment above about the guitar, lol, could i be any further off with that one, yeah the artcore’s look quite cool and cheap which is always good, the only semi i have ever own’d is a Hofner, old skool thing, that had previously had it’s neck snapped and upon repair gone bad had lost intonation and basically become a wall ornament….haha will have to invest one day, played a few gretsch’s which i love but too pricey….love the one the living end guitarist plays…..
The high end Artcores are about $2000+ and worth every penny!
Yeah I do have a female vocalist at my disposal – she kinda sounds like the Pretenders. I plan on doing somethings with her later this year.
So I added the scratch vocals, to see where they fit and what kind of work needs to be done – hopefully there will be a track posted soon. We may need to revisit some areas. The clip I submitted is just part of the verse, prechorus, and chorus.. Again, its rough, we’ll work on the production once we work out the final lyrics and get more balls loaded into some of the part
Oh damn,.. sorry DC,.. I didn’t realise there was another update,.. my explorer is busted and feeds aren’t working,.. even the google search engine is fucked up for me at the moment,.. I can only re-browse through the whole index to discover updates.. and so I found this new addition,.. it’s very short, but it sounds good thus far, no issues I can detect.
Interesting to hear you have a female vocalist who sounds like the lead singer of the Pretenders… because WOW… that’s definitely a good voice,.. looking forward to hearing her contributions to your stuff aswell,..
Put this one on hold for a bit.. need to figure out where it needs to go. It isn’t speaking to me yet. Probably work on it next month with Allen some more.
